Directions to Ridge Creek Wilderness
Ridge Creek Wilderness is located outside of historic Dahlonega, GA. Dahlonega sits nestled in the North Georgia foothills. Our picturesque campus is bordered on three sides by the Appalachian National Forest.
Dahlonega is conveniently located about an hour North of Atlanta area. While we have students from all over the United States and even some international students, we are easily accessible from anywhere in the Southeast. Our campus is less than 150 mile drive from many of the Southeast’s metropolitan areas including Chattanooga, TN, Greenville, SC, Asheville, NC and Knoxville, TN.
From the South,
Take 1-285 in Atlanta to GA 400 North. Continue north until GA 400 ends at Highway 60. (U.S. 19 and Highway 60 become one). Turn left on Highway 60/19 and continue through Dahlonega via Business Route 19/60. About two miles north of Dahlonega, turn left onto Camp Wahsega Road and travel about seven miles to the sign for Ridge Creek School on the right. You will pass through the Ridge Creek School campus. Proceed straight through the main intersection at Ridge Creek School past the soccer field to a wooden covered bridge. Cross the covered bridge and follow the signs to Ridge Creek Wilderness.From the Northeast,
Exit 1-85 South at Highway 129 North into Gainesville. At the fork of Highway 129 and Highway 60, take Highway 60 (left) to Dahlonega. Highway 60 will connect with U.S. 19 at the intersection of GA 400. Stay on Highway 60/19 and continue through Dahlonega via Business Route 19/60. About two miles north of Dahlonega, turn left onto Camp Wahsega Road and travel about seven miles to the sign for Ridge Creek School. You will pass through the Ridge Creek School campus. Proceed straight through the main intersection at Ridge Creek School past the soccer field to a wooden covered bridge. Cross the covered bridge and follow the signs to Ridge Creek Wilderness.From the Northwest,
From 1-75 South, exit onto Highway 53. Follow Highway 53 to GA 400/U.S. 19 and turn left onto GA 400 North. Continue until GA 400 ends at Highway 60 (U.S. 19 and Highway 60 become one). Turn left on Highway 60/19 and continue through Dahlonega via Business Route 19/60. About two miles north of Dahlonega, turn left onto Camp Wahsega Road and travel about seven miles to the sign for Ridge Creek School. You will pass through the Ridge Creek School campus. Proceed straight through the main intersection at Ridge Creek School past the soccer field to a wooden covered bridge. Cross the covered bridge and follow the signs to Ridge Creek Wilderness.Driving Times from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport
Atlanta is notorious for traffic jams so please factor that in when planning a trip from the airport. It takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Ridge Creek, Inc. during non-rush hour traffic (9 a.m.- 3 p.m.). During rush hours (before 9, after 3), allow at least an extra ½ hour of travel time.
From the Atlanta Airport, Take 1-85 North through downtown Atlanta to GA 400 North. Continue north until GA 400 ends at Highway 60. (U.S. 19 and Highway 60 become one). Turn left on Highway 60/19 and continue through Dahlonega via Business Route 19/60. About two miles north of Dahlonega, turn left onto Camp Wahsega Road and travel about seven miles to the sign for Ridge Creek School. You will pass through the Ridge Creek School campus. Proceed straight through the main intersection at Ridge Creek School past the soccer field to a wooden covered bridge. Cross the covered bridge and follow the signs to Ridge Creek Wilderness. From Dahlonega’s Public Square. Go around the square to highway 52E or East Main St. At the stop light, make a left onto North Grove St. Go 2.3 miles to Camp Wahsega Rd. Turn left onto Camp Wahsega Rd. Travel 6.9 miles. You will see the sign for Ridge Creek School on the right hand side of the road. Turn right at the sign. Follow Hidden Lake Road for approximately one mile. You will pass through the Ridge Creek School campus. Proceed straight through the main intersection at Ridge Creek School past the soccer field to a wooden covered bridge. Cross the covered bridge and follow the signs to Ridge Creek Wilderness.
